Complaints Recording and Reporting Policy and Procedure

The Canadian Cancer Society is a member of Imagine Canada and has adopted the Ethical Fundraising and Financial Accountability Code (the Ethical Code). Canadian Cancer Society is committed to dealing with requests and complaints promptly and fairly. Canadian Cancer Society leverages complaints and concerns to improve its business practices and procedures.

Canadian Cancer Society is committed to:
• Listening and investigating thoroughly
• Recording all written and spoken complaints
• Dealing with complaints in an appropriate, fair and timely manner
• Respecting the privacy and anonymity of all individuals

Canadian Cancer Society submits to Imagine Canada an annual report of the number and types of complaints about any matter that is addressed in the Ethical Code, as required for compliance under the Ethical Code.

Complaint Procedures
A person making a complaint can speak to any Canadian Cancer Society staff. The complainant should be aware that Canadian Cancer Society can use personal information provided by the complainant for the purposes of investigating the complaint. If the complaint involves a third party, Canadian Cancer Society will assume, unless otherwise advised that the complainant has given permission to contact that third party in order to resolve the complaint. All complainants will receive a response within seven (7) business days.
